Common Faults Of Gear Pumps

Discharge is not possible
(1) Fault phenomenon: the pump cannot discharge materials
Cause of failure: a. The direction of rotation is reversed; b. The suction or discharge valve is closed; c. The inlet is unmaterial or the pressure is too low; d. The viscosity is too high, and the pump cannot bite the material
Countermeasures: a. Confirm the direction of rotation; b. Confirm whether the valve is closed; c. Check the valve and pressure gauge; d. Check the viscosity of the liquid, whether the flow rate proportional to the speed occurs when running at low speed, if there is flow, the flow is insufficient

Insufficient traffic
(2) Fault phenomenon: insufficient pump flow
Cause of failure: a. The suction or discharge valve is closed; b. Low inlet pressure; c. The outlet pipeline is blocked; d. Leakage of stuffing box; e. The speed is too low
Countermeasures: a. Confirm whether the valve is closed; b. Check whether the valve is open; c. Confirm whether the discharge volume is normal; d. Fastening; When a large number of leaks affect production, it should be stopped and disassembled for inspection; e. Check the actual speed of the pump shaft

The sound is abnormal
(3) Fault phenomenon: abnormal sound
Cause of failure: a. The coupling is eccentric or poorly lubricated b. The motor is faulty; c. The reducer is abnormal; d. Poor installation of the shaft seal; e. Shaft deformation or wear
Countermeasures: a. Find or fill the grease; b. Check the motor; c. Check bearings and gears; d. Check the shaft seal; e. Parking disintegration inspection

Excessive current
(4) Fault phenomenon: excessive current
Cause of failure: a. The outlet pressure is too high; b. The melt viscosity is too large; c. Poor shaft packaging; d. Wear of shafts or bearings; e. Motor failure
Countermeasures: a. Check downstream equipment and pipelines; b. Test viscosity; c. Check the shaft seal and adjust it appropriately; d. Check after parking whether the car is too heavy with a hand; e. Check the motor
